Overall, except for significant style refresh, the new Strada is no different from a facelift because its current model is still running. The engine, chassis and structure of this mid-cycle model generally do not change from the previous generation. So, what’s new in 2019 Strada? Keep reading the review by Philcarreview.com to find the answer.

2. Mitsubishi Strada 2019 Exterior: How does it look?

In terms of overall dimensions, the Strada Philippines length x width x height corresponds to 5300 x 1815 x 1795 mm. The re-design has clearly increased length up by 25 mm, height up by 15 mm, and ground clearance up by 15 mm.

As mentioned above, the Strada 2019 is like a positive makeover. The front of the car features a silver-painted grille and two chrome-plated bars. On top of that, the Japanese car brand also introduced Dynamic Shield to gave its iconic pickup a distinctively aggressive look like the Xpander and Montero Sport. The LED headlights and the DRLs are the slimmer versions at the top, while the signal lights and the front fog are the larger ones at the bottom.

A diamond-cut 18-in alloy wheel package featuring a bi-tone finish, a window deflector and a carbon fiber-effect foil cover on the door pillars are provided as options. The side door is painted to match the trim element on the facade.

Besides the standard colors, there are three all-new color options available on the 2019 Mitsubishi Strada, they are:

3. Mitsubishi Strada 2019: What's new inside this model?

Mitsubishi doesn't have too many changes in the interior of the new Strada but they still makes it convenient and comfy. Inside, the 2019 Strada will still remind you of the Montero Sport , particularly the four-stroke, leather-wrapped steering wheel. The integrated buttons on the dashboard have a cleaner look than before, although some people don't like the appearance of a few blank buttons.

Besides, if you’re intending to get one, you need to be really noticed because the heavy use of black plastics on key touchpoints, such as the door control panel, the gear lever housing, and the infotainment housing, are easily scratched.

For convenient features, there's no Apple Carplay or Android Auto in the 2019 Strada, but Bluetooth smartphone integration is smooth and hands-free calls are perfectly clear. Users expected conveniences are all available in this model, including speed-sensing door locks, auto up / down driver window, power-folding mirrors, headlight levelers, push start / stop, parking sensors, reverse camera, cruise control, three USB ports, and touchscreen infotainment.

5. 2019 Strada Engine & Performance Review

For this year's edition, Mitsubishi still offers users the option of a 2.4-liter diesel engine. The 2.4-liter MIVEC diesel with VGT that produces 178 horsepowers and 430 Nm of torque. 2019 Strada appears to be an offender compared to the Ford Biturbo Wildtrak and the Chevrolet Colorado, the master of the torque race. However, it did not disappoint Filipino drivers. Keep reading to find out why.

The six-speed standard automatic transmission sent an immense amount of torque as early as 1,500 RPM, peaking at 2,500 RPM, which meant the pull was easily accessible on the switch, even from a standstill. Moreover, when the speed was increased, there was a little delay in making the engine downshift by itself. You better use the large paddle shifters to manually row through the gears

Although fuel efficiency isn't the 2019 Strada strongest suit, it still has an impressive fuel economy of 7.6L/100km. This is a good figure for a pick-up, though expect that to go down by quite a little if you're carrying in a lot of cargo.
