Below are some useful driving experiences for AT cars drivers so that they can guarantee a maximum safety:

#1. Before starting the engine, completely push the brake pedal, change the gear to P (parking) and pull the handbrake.

#2. Always push the brake pedal when shifting gear; don’t put your foot on the gas pedal when shifting gear from P to N, or any other gear position.

#3. You shouldn’t always hold the shift lock button, sometimes it will accidentally shift R (reverse).

#4. Don’t shift to N while the car is moving; accidents may occur if you unintentionally shift the gear from P to R, or when the car isn’t braked by the engine.

#5. Always put your foot on the brake pedal when shifting to N, or from N to other positions to avoid losing control of the car.

#6. If there is a blinking light at the gear stick, it probably indicates that the gearbox is malfunctioned. If this is the case, bring the car to the maintenance service as soon as possible.

#7. Before shifting gear when the engine is working and the car is standing still, completely push the brake so that the car doesn’t move forward. The car will start to move when the gear is shifted, especially when the engine’s speed is high and the car is high in suspension mode or when the AC is on. Release the brake only when you feel ready to drive.

#8. The right foot should always be used for the brake. If you use left foot for the brake, chances are that you will diminish your reaction in case of emergency.

#9. In order to avoid sudden acceleration, don’t push the gas pedal when shifting from P or N to other positions.

#11. When the brake pedal is pressed and the car is standing still, you shouldn’t press the gas pedal for it can ruin the gearbox.

#12. Avoid throwing bottles or trashes on the car floor for it can block the pedals.

#13. Avoid wearing sandals or slippers while driving, because the straps can get entangled with the pedals anytime and cause accidents.
