Kia Carnival Review

Exterior

The Kia Carnival appears like a luxurious SUV-like car suitable for individuals to take a trip with many friends and family members. The new 2022 model has a border stance and a powerful front fascia.

It has redesigned elegant C-pillars, the Kia logo, and a set of sharp headlamps. The front design of the Kia Carnival 2022 with automatic LED headlights is slimmer, connected to the large grille. The new logo of this model is the highlight with a much more trendy outlook.

There are 18-inch wheels on the Ex, while the SX gets bigger 19-inch wheels. The car's overall dimensions are 5,155 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,775 in height.

Interior

The car has a larger interior space than the old generation. The 2022 Carnival can easily accommodate up to seven passengers. The second row provides a spacious leg room, and the third-row seat has a broad bench style with plenty of cargo capacity.

The center seat is designed to accommodate child seats and can slide and rotate 180 degrees to facilitate child care during travel. The 3rd-row seats can recline 120 degrees; the ceiling light is larger than the old generation.

The luggage compartment is spacious and can flexibly adjust the rear seats. The luggage compartment capacity can be doubled when the 3rd-row seats are completely folded flat and four times when the 2nd-row seats are folded or disassembled.

The front seats are electronically adjustable. You can feel comfortable with the leather or leatherette material of these seats.

For getting into the vehicle, motorized sliding doors and a power tailgate will help you conveniently. There is also a 2 zone automatic climate control system, cruise control, push-button to start, digital instrument cluster, and a sunroof as additional features.

Colors

In terms of colors, the Kia Carnival in the Philippines has three options: Aurora Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl, and Astra Blue. Even though there are only two variants, you can choose a special paint called Pearl as an exclusive edition that is priced a bit higher.

Engine & Performance

Both variants of the 2022 Carnival are powered by a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine able to produce up to 440 Nm of torque and 200 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission then powers the model's front wheels.

In comparison to other regions, the Philippines has few options in this regard. Units sold in other countries may be equipped with a 3.5-liter multi-point injection V6 producing 268 horsepower and 332 Nm or a 3.5-liter gasoline direct-injection (GDI) V6 mill producing 290 horsepower and 355 Nm.

Platform & Chassis

For platform and chassis, the Kia Carnival uses an N3 platform similar to the Kia Sorento with a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension.

The chassis allows the car to reduce frontal impacts, reinforcing tempered steel at key positions to help optimize weight and create rigidity and safety. The disc brakes are equipped on all four wheels with an electronic parking brake for stopping power.

Technology & Safety Features

For driver and passenger safety, the Carnival Philippines has a rear camera, six airbags, anti-locking braking with electronic brake force, stability control, front and rear parking sensors, hill-start assist, and ISOFIX anchors.

There is also an immobilizer, seatbelt reminder, and security alarm as other protection features. To boost the protection level to another level, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep will help supplement those standard safety features.

With lots of modern equipment in the Kia Carnival 2022, you and your company can feel safe driving the car.

However, a safe car drive is not the only thing Kia will offer you, as there will be many entertainment features. You will have Bluetooth, USB, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-piece speaker system for a fun and non boring journey.

Buyers who pay even more attention to these convenience features can acquire an SX trim as it has a wireless smartphone charger.
